Alyssa is now two years old (as of 11/14). We are frequently amazed by what we perceive to be incredible intelligence. (Pardon any exaggeration, since I'm her father, even the exaggerations seem perfectly accurate.) Alyssa does seem to have an exceptional vocabulary.
Recently, we were sitting down at the table for supper and Shona asked, "Where is your cup, Alyssa?", thinking that she might shrug her shoulders or mutter some jibberish. Alyssa responded quite clearly, "In the cupboard." Shona and I looked at each other and said, "No way." So Shona walked over to the one cupboard that Alyssa is permitted to play in, and there it was.
That was pretty cool.
