Since Alyssa's second birthday fell on a Monday, we considered the weekend prior as her birthday weekend. On Saturday, we stopped at a fast food joint for a kid's meal on our way into Little Rock. Alyssa was more excited about drinking Hi-C from a regular cup with a straw than looking at the cool kid's meal box or the toy. Then, we met up with some family folks and went to the big Zoo. That was a big time. If you've never heard a two year old say hi and bye to lots of different animals, you should take a small child to the Zoo. Hearing Alyssa attempt Rhinoceros was worth the Zoo's entry fee.
After the zoo, we went to Cold Stone Creamery for a treat. That went over really well.
On Sunday evening, my parents came for supper and to stay the night with us. Shona decorated the dining area nicely and we had a blast, with cake and presents and singing and playing...fun times.
On Monday evening, more presents had come in the mail and I brought home some balloons and we had more cake and well, it was more fun times.
My wife put a lot of thought and time into making the weekend and birthday special for us all. She and my two baby girls are very precious gifts from God.
