Stirring Storyteller -
I have just returned home from an overnight Men's Retreat with 50 men from my church. We spent roughly 18 hours together in a peaceful lodge on a beautiful, naturally preserved lake in North-central Arkansas. The theme of course, was Christian Manhood; the speaker was Dr. Harry Reeder, a pastor from Birmingham, Alabama (more about Reeder). Dr. Reeder's messages were helpful in principle and were driven home by vivid illustrations from the lives of Generals Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Joshua Chamberlain. Reeder is a great storyteller and an extremely well-read historian. The retreat was very profitable and God-honoring. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be in the hearing of well-told, true accounts of Godly heroes.
