I have recently embraced some very good teaching related to Christians' civic duties. We are charged by our government to be active in the "political" process, and we are taught in God's Word to advance God's truth and call for repentance when God's laws are trampled under foot. As we render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and pay our taxes and give allegiance to the country in which God has positioned us, we ought to call for conformity to the established law of the country, our constitution. For when this country's leaders forsake the established laws of the land and seek to subdue the influence of God's laws upon our nation's heritage, we are right to stand up and defend ourselves against such wickedness.
Christians need to give expression to Truth, and actively support leaders with uncompromised principle. My pastor, in this state's flagship congregation for a major nationwide denomination, proclaimed boldly today that no Christian should support or vote for a man who endorses wickedness, actively or passively.
I am lending my assistance to the Constitution Party (see their national website or their Arkansas website).
In civic activity, I am committed to constitutionally limited government and the advancement of those Biblical principles which pertain to civil governance. As for me and my house, we will support and vote for candidates who are pro-life without exceptions, who will not capitulate to sodomites, and who will constrain themselves to the Constitution upon which our nation was founded.
The language of this last paragraph is borrowed with much gratitude to the following website.
