For those of you who are regularly visiting my links in the sidebar, you've already read the article at Arkansas Catholic about the recent Rite of Election for the Diocese of Little Rock (the boundaries of which match the boundaries of the entire state of Arkansas). The Rite of Election is one of the final steps each year before converts to the Catholic Church are fully reconciled at Easter. This year, over 500 folks participated in the Rite of Election just in Arkansas.
Monsignor Hebert addressed the converts saying, "Catholics are strange people...You come into the Church with both feet. You become the best Catholic around ... We do not need anymore second-class Catholics. The quota has been filled. We need first-class Catholics .... We can't wait to have you strange people be a part of us."
