For those of you who know me well and are aware that my reading habits are shameful in that I am fond of picking up books from my shelves in somewhat random fashion for brief periods while rarely finishing any book, you will be highly impressed (at least I hope you are, since that is my reason for writing) to learn that I actually read Rod Bennett's Four Witnesses, The Early Church in Her Own Words cover to cover.
I recently entered a post here endorsing this book and recommending that you obtain a copy, but I feel compelled to follow-up with this announcement of my having actually completed the reading since from someone like me, this is the clearest and heartiest endorsement any book can receive.
Though no other words are needed in addition to my assurance that I have read the book, I would hasten to add (for all of you who continue to have a particular interest in reading this site because of my conversion from Protestantism to the Catholic faith) that I honestly believe that this book could have brought about my conversion earlier or more quickly if it had been a part of my contemplations in the Summer of 2005.
So, again I say, find a copy of this book and do not rest until you have finished it. You will sincerely thank me when you have complied with my instructions.
As to another book that you may recall from my archived entries here, The Spirit and Forms of Protestantism by Louis Bouyer, I have benefited greatly from the work but have yet to actually finish it. I am endeavoring now to wrap this one up so that I can also give it my firm amen here in the hopes that you will also buy it and soak it up soon.
Not long behind Bouyer's book, I will be tying up loose ends on two of Scott Hahn's books, The Lamb's Supper and Hail, Holy Queen, because those also deserve my fullest endorsement and you will gain much from them.
Remember, it is good and right for you to respond favourably to my advice.
