We flew to England by British Airways (they happened to have the cheapest offer, which is great since they are the absolute best line to fly with). But getting a British Airways flight from/to Little Rock involves a partner airline. We went to Atlanta by Delta to get BA to London, then we got off BA on the way home at Dallas and picked up American. All of that went rather smooth, except the initial screening in the Little Rock aiport where Shona had been "randomly" selected for hassle. I think her name must have been among the most non-American on the flight so she got tagged.
The TSA folks were a real pain in the neck, but we survived that and got to the gate to board our Delta flight. Thankfully, even though Shona's boarding pass was flagged for yet another intimate search, the Delta fellow just hit the override button and let us pass.
We flew on to Atlanta, an airport I reckon to be among the most intimidating if you have to change concourses to catch a flight. When we got to the gate and requested our boarding passes for the BA flight, the BA boarding agent upgraded our seats for free without our asking. We got the handy seats with the fold-out panel in front for an infant seat/basket. That makes the trip so much easier. Thank you friendly British Airways Guy.
All flights were on time and we landed at London's Gatwick airport at roughly 7:30am. As we approached the immigration/passport checkpoint, we asked if Shona could remain with me and the girls since I needed some help. The fellow did better than grant us permission, he escorted us to a fast-track line where we sailed through in two minutes rather than waiting twenty minutes in the ordinary line.
We got our luggage and called Grandpa to pick us up. We couldn't have planned it to go much more smoothly.
