Hushpuppy

I cannot hold it in any longer. I've been itching to reveal a funny fact to you since Friday evening. Most of you know that Todd Davis at Upriver is my pastor. We have enjoyed quite a few meals together in the time we've known each other, and several of those meals have included fried catfish and hushpuppies. I have never noticed it before, but Friday evening at the Catfish Cabin in Monroe, Louisiana, I discovered something interesting about how Pastor Todd eats hushpuppies. He removes the outer, fried crusty layer and eats it separate from the inside ball of bread. Now, I've seen children remove the crust from sandwich bread, but I had never seen anyone take the crust off a hushpuppy. Funny stuff.

By the way, if you're ever in Monroe and looking for a good spot to eat, Catfish Cabin is worthy of your visit. I can recommend the catfish and the hushpuppies, and the boiled shrimp was rather good as well.
