Sometimes I think that I should just stop writing anything of my own and just provide nothing but links on this journal to other men's journals where good stuff is frequently provided. I hope you find it worth your short while stopping in here even when all I've done is directed you somewhere else.
Alastair at 40 Bicycles gives us another great link today. This is an article with a rich, biblical look at the message of the Gospel. We often use language about building the Kingdom of God and advancing the crown-rights of King Jesus, but this article truly calls on us to have a greater awareness of the Kingdom when we consider the Gospel.
Excellent material here with inspiring implications for our view of the world around us and the way our lives are lived out in light of that view.
"God made certain promises in the OT regarding His return to His people, His kingly reign, and the incorporation of the gentiles into the covenant, and the gospel is the proclamation that those promises have been fulfilled – Jesus is Lord (i.e., “Our God reigns,” Is. 52:7)....the promised new age and kingdom of God has arrived, because Jesus is the Messiah-God who has come to reign as King over all by conquering the enemy (sin and death) via resurrection, redeeming His covenanted people, and bringing the fullness of the covenant to the nations."
