After recommending that you go out and buy Gods and Generals, the movie, I took advantage of an opportunity to go out and buy it myself. I like DVD's because I truly appreciate the art of acting and filmmaking and the special features on DVD's are very interesting to me.
A good bit of additional history and details were provided in the special features of Gods and Generals. One very interesting note was that Stonewall Jackson was so committed to obeying God that when battle required him to neglect observing the Lord's Day, he would designate a different day in the week to keep holy in order to ensure that he and his men honored God and enjoyed the blessings associated with setting aside one day every week.
I realize that General Jackson was not perfect and that he too failed to always do the right thing. But it is apparent that he truly loved God and was absolutely committed to serving Him according to His Word in every way that he knew how. Admirable.
