Experiencing, Learning, Growing, Maturing

The following is a "New Year's Resolution" posted on Facebook by Lucinda Ruth Plumlee (who gave me permission to share).

"The New Year is approaching. Saying goodbye to who I was and hello to who I will be. 2009 brought lessons learned (some were fun, some hurt, and some really hurt), decisions made (some good, some bad, and some I regret), a broken heart that will heal, some fun times, and some sad times. All of these events helped to make me the person I am today, and you can see it in the decisions I now make. I'm thankful for everything that happened in 2009...good or bad.

Now...to the New Year's resolution. My resolution is to hold nothing back and to not settle for second best in myself or anything else. I'm letting go of the past and taking on 2010 and all it has to bring. I'm letting go of worrying about what people think. I'm gonna be who I am and who I want to be.

Everything we want is inside ourselves, and I don't want to stay in my comfort zone and this time next year, risk being the person I am right now...by not growing, by not experiencing what I want to experience, by not being one step closer to my dreams, by not having accomplished goals or made new ones, and by not having conquered fears...all because I held back and settled. I feel like I have settled many times in my past. No more!

We ALL are deserving of the best, and if we don't fight for the best in our lives, we have no one to blame but ourselves...no excuses. It's all in you!! :) Whoo hoo...goodbye 2009, hello 2010!! I'm gonna be too much for you to handle!! LOL :)"
