Celtics / Lakers

Generally speaking, I am not an avid NBA fan. I don't really commit the appropriate amount of time to watching games and tracking stats to stay interested. But most years, I seem to make time for some portion of the playoffs, and definitely the finals.

This year's finals are tough for me because I like both teams. I've "bought in" to the storylines for both teams so I'm not adamantly opposed to either team winning. However, I have found myself pulling for the Lakers. In part, I think it relates to Fisher being from Little Rock, but primarily it must relate to Phil Jackson being my favorite coach of all time. I was a Bulls fan during his reign in Chicago and I really do believe he is a master coach.

But I'm a bit frustrated with myself for leaning toward the Lakers since they now seem quite close to losing the series. In fact, I hadn't realized it until the fourth quarter last night, but I was emotionally invested...to the extent that I was quite agitated in the last few minutes realizing that the Celtics had done what seemed so very unlikely earlier in the game. They successfully overcame a 24 point deficit and won. Ugh.
