Emotion

"We laugh to keep from crying." This is one of my Dad's favorite sayings. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint when you've done this. But there are times when it is quite apparent. For instance, I laughed, nearly uncontrollably, at something in the afternoon yesterday and then on further reflection in the evening, I cried. So I figure that I had been laughing to keep from crying.
