Alyssa (my daughter) has recently begun bringing "items of interest" to us from drawers, closets, bags within reach, etc. There's no pattern really, except that she rarely visits a closet or reaches into a bag or drawer without pulling something out and bringing it to one of us. She's not necessarily interested in playing with the items or destroying them, she just wants us to have them. She raises no objection when told to return the items, though memory sometimes fails her regarding the origin of the item.
Well, this evening, her discovery was an audio-tape, one I had never seen. Apparently, my wife is a recorded singer. As a music major in college, she participated in the college choir. Among other gigs, one regular performance for this choir was to sing for the local church's Advent Carol Service.
Bishop Grosseteste College is a “Church College in the Anglican tradition” and is located in a city called Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England. The “local church” is Lincoln Cathedral (here or here).
We listened to a portion of the tape and while I admit that I could not pick out Shona’s voice particularly, I appreciated the choir’s singing very much.
(If you have a free moment, Google "Lincoln Cathedral" and hit "Images" at the top of the page. Wow. Oh, and the graduation ceremonies for BGC are held in the cathedral as well. Afterward, a procession from the cathedral to Lincoln Castle ends with the graduates enjoying "champagne and strawberries" in the castle.)
