Fun Stuff in the Local Paper

The following two quotes do not come from the humour section, but I got a decent chuckle at both and hopefully you will as well.

“When Lieutenant Bill Driggle of the City Fire Department last left his old office, the ceiling had begun to collapse and all he could do was look forward and run. Driggle, heading up a crew of firefighters that included Jim Clergo, Lon Oster and Jake Olarus were on the front line fighting the January 27 fire that destroyed their office, the Central Fire Station.”

“In every case it seems as if the body, our nation, has four heads instead of two. In the center are the two heads of reason -- science and religion as two respected disciplines. On the outer edge are the two unreasonable heads, that say "Our way is the only way." … The center two heads are trying to calm down the outer two, by explaining that there are no eye witnesses to either view. Both views accumulate data and then take a leap of faith to an acceptable conclusion.” - from a local pastor, who regularly contributes insightful articles to the paper
