Settling

Move day was an amazingly smooth operation, thanks in large part to the excellent help of several close friends and family. As is usually the case with wrong-headed anxiety, I had fretted for no reason at all. My help was pretty much on time, the trucks didn’t break down, no one ended up in the hospital, and at the end of the day, I went to sleep in the same cozy sheets on the same cozy bed that I had awoken in that morning – 38 miles down the road. The Lord’s Day was nicer with the reduction in driving time; one brother noted that we “gained” an hour by not having to drive that roundtrip.

Frozen water pipes this morning afforded me the opportunity to take advantage of some good neighbors. It's been about ten years since I last walked up to a friend's house in the morning with a towel and toiletry kit in hand...fun stuff.
