Thank for continuing in prayer for the family of our brother in Christ, John, and particularly for baby Sophia. I received an update from John this morning. Here are some lines from that message:
I never imagined the days after surgery would be as intense as they were or pass as quickly as they have. Sophia is successfully recovering from the surgery last Wednesday. She is really doing quite well and should be coming home by the end of the week. The surgeon and cardiologists are very pleased with her recovery. Their expectations are for her to have a normal quality of life and level of activity.
My friends, I have been truly humbled by the amount of prayer support from all over the country (& Uruguay). Friends like you all have blessed our souls during this time in inexpressible ways. I am so thankful. I have heard from brothers and sisters that I do not know who heard through another brother or sister expressing heartfelt sympathy, encouragement, and prayer support. I will never forget the outpouring of compassion. I read emails, cards, and letters with my wife each night for encouragement and support. Most of all we greatly appreciate the many prayers for Sophia and our family during this difficult trial. Those prayers have been answered in a way we never let ourselves conceive they could be answered.
Praise be to God! Little Sophia will soon be joining my other olive plants and fruitful vine around my table. I have been immeasurably blessed!
Soli Deo Gloria,
John
Indeed, give God great praise for His mercy in this situation and His abundant lovingkindness to His children.
