Captivity's Captor

God's people are no longer held captive to sin. We ought to strive valiantly for our Savior, He who leads captivity captive. Though we have indeed been delivered from sin and well provided for in the Promised Land of true Life, we do oft continue in sin as if to repeat the ingratitude of the Jews, who complained against God and remembered their captivity fondly.

Who has delivered us? Jesus Christ our Lord.
God, our own God, has saved us.

While sin occasionally ensnares us in this life, we ought not linger long in it, but rather be grieved at each small reminder of the damnation which was ours apart from the grace of our Savior. We no longer dwell in a house of bondage to sin but have indeed become bondservants of a worthy Master, captivity's Captor.
