Well, the controversial proposal at the Southern Baptist Convention will not get a vote after all. Here are a couple of quotes from a Fox News article:
"I would never impose on anyone how they should be educating their children," said Rev. Tommy Green, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Brandon, Fla., who serves on one of the committees to the convention and opposed the resolution from the outset.
Somehow, Mr. Reverend, I don't have much trouble believing that you seem to confuse biblical instruction with unnecessary imposition, thank you for being so honest.
"People are now grappling with the idea, ‘Should I pull my kid out for home-school or Christian school?'" he (another man) said. "I think there’s a majority who have never thought of it before."
I hope that this grappling is widespread and that the Lord will use the proposal to yield much fruit in this land.
