As I read more, I am increasingly aware that I rarely have a fresh new thought or approach to much of anything. I guess I am prone to pride in occasionally thinking that I have charted new territory in some line of thought or way of reasoning. For instance, a tremendous help to me in recent months in addition to God's Word has been Doug Wilson's "Reformed Is Not Enough." Additionally, I have read online publications and had fruitful discussions which have been means of growth for me. So, I sit down and compose my thoughts into a journal entry here, only to realize that nothing I have said is original and is hardly unique even in its expression - it has all been derived from several sources.
However, I am content to be aiding the further spread of God's Truth rather than being a discoverer. I am pleased to offer here a regurgitated expression of God's Truth filtered through a mind influenced by the likes of John Calvin, Charles H Spurgeon, R.C. Sproul, R.C. Sproul Jr, Douglas Wilson, Tim Gallant, Philip Lancaster, other names you might recognize, and certainly not least among these in terms of influence upon me, my local elders and brothers in the faith. I am not ashamed to be indebted to righteous men of God for the wisdom that they have shared through various means.
I only hope that God will help me to guard against very persistent, worldly influences upon my mind. And I pray that God will work through me in various ways to grow others in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
