In case you've been pondering how to best describe the broad evangelical view of the Kingdom of God, I've got some help for you. In some recent sermon notes regarding the Kingdom, Pastor Gregg Strawbridge provided this complex, theologically astute description:
"...our 'meek and mild, ooey gooey, warm and fuzzy wuzzy,' sense of the 'kingdom' was not at all in the minds of those to whom a Galilean carpenter declared, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:15)."
Besides having an excellent point, that is some deep terminology. I'll be strongly exhorting my pastor to incorporate "meek and mild, ooey gooey, warm and fuzzy wuzzy" into an upcoming sermon.
